Posted by: verdon on 11/24/2006 11:48 PM (Read: 3309)

Two new modules for phpWebSite 0.10.x have been released by Verdon Vaillancourt at the phpWebSite-comm site. Elections is intended to serve as a comprehensive system for running elections of many sorts, with a variety of options available. Classifieds is intended to serve as a Super Simple Classifieds ad system.

Sound interesting? Be sure to read more, for further details and a download link!

Elections 1.0.1 allows a site admin to set up any number of elections. Individual elections can be configured to be public or not, allow anyone to vote or logged in users only or specific groups of logged in users, also, opening and closing dates, multiple choice ballots and other options. Any number of candidates may be added to individual elections. Candidate templates can be readily customized with custom fields. Image upload support is an option for candidate profiles, with configurable auto thumb-nailing and resizing. Election results may be viewed by an admin in a browser or exported as a csv file. Lots of help balloons in the module make it easy to admin.

Classifieds 1.0.1 allows people to submit classifieds ads listing. There are a number of browse, list, and detail views. Custom fields can be added to a listing template easily and the module is very configurable. The module integrates with fatcat, as well as approval and comments if so desired. Image upload support is an option with configurable auto thumb-nailing and resizing. Auto expiration of listings is also an option. Lots of help balloons in the module make it easy to admin.

You can grab both modules from phpWebSite-comm:

IMPORTANT: Elections and Classifieds are both modules for phpWebSite 0.10.1 or better, but not the new phpWebsite 1.x.x series.

Now that these two modules are out the door, Verdon - also author of phpwsbusinesses and podcaster - looks forward to porting his modules to the new core.
